Hello and Welcome!

My name is Deb McGaugh, designer and owner at "Sew What Quilting".

I began sewing clothing for 4H at age 9 and achieved local and state fair top honors throughout my years in 4H. I began piecing quilt tops and machine quilting with my sewing machine 12 years ago. I have pieced and quilted 200 plus projects.  I took the skills/techniques I had learned quilting with my sewing machine, adapted them to the long arm machine, and have quilted 250 plus quilts a year for customers.

In addition to making quilts for sale, I enjoy creating custom quilts. The artistic talent, which I have expressed using many different mediums, is now expressed with thread on fabric. I read the quilt top and quilt each quilt top as a unique piece of art. I quilt all quilts ranging from the most basic to the intricate quilt top patterns, hand embroidered quilt tops and wholecloth quilts. I quilt the simple, all over meandering patterns up to the complex, unique one-of-a-kind artistic/detailed quilting. I also repair quilts.

I design original, one-of-a-kind quilt patterns for the person who would like a unique quilted creation. I have sold several quilts that I have designed, but I have not put the patterns together to go out to the quilting world.  The patterns will be coming in the future.

I have quilted for pattern and fabric designers as well as quilted projects which have won honors and recognition at local fairs and other competing events.  The unique, artistic machine quilting I do compares to the accomplished artist's brush on canvas.  My work is published in "Quilts and More", Better Homes and Gardens Premier Issue, Spring of 2005, the project is Rickrack Tulips and all of the projects in the book titled "Alphabet Soup", published in September 2005.

I have created and donated quilts which were sent to the troops in the Middle East, personal tragedy fund raising quilts, and donated quilting for 4H fund raising event.

It is my business to make sure your quilting needs are met.
I use a long arm quilting machine to quilt your quilt tops with simple patterns or detailed, artistic quilting patterns, as well as the quilts which are for sale on the web site. I also design, sew and quilt custom quilts, such as memory quilts, just for you!

My artistic abilites serve the quilting needs of quilters in all of the communities through out the United States.  The quilting shop is located in the midwest.  A few of the states around me are South Dakota,  North Dakota, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Utah, Missouri, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho.

I look forward to hearing from you.  Please contact me by email, which is available through this site.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!
